Product Overview

Silver French Dragees (pronounced Dra-jeys) are those little metallic balls that we all remember on holiday cookies. They are safe to eat, but should be removed before serving because of the real metal coating. (That means they won't hurt you if you eat them, they do have a sugar center, it's just that the FDA has recommended that they are for decorative use only, and they are technically not a food item). They do add a beautiful and elegant look to wedding cakes, birthday cakes and holiday items. Picture shown is not actual size.

Be careful, they tarnish!
Jessica Stamps (Trinity, AL) 5/21/2012 2:46 PM
These edible "bee-bee's" as I call them are made of real silver coated with sugar centers. With that being said, the silver can tarnish and mine did within 24 hours of decorating my cupcakes. No biggie since I was just making the cakes for my family, but I thought others may want to know this in case they can't figure out why they get a brownish tint after some time. So put these on at the very last minute. PS--silver is edible, although like the disclaimer says I wouldn't eat large quantities of it :)

Finally!
Liz Evans (Layton, UT) 4/21/2011 1:37 PM
I have been looking EVERYWHERE for these little silver wonders. I had a request for tea cakes with edible ball bearings. I knew what they meant, but could I find them? No. As a last resort I searched the Internet and found this site. These will be perfect for my needs, and now I know where to come when I need more.
